Valentine Keepsake

Since Tricia has got a spoiler up for Club Scraps upcoming Love Blooms Event, I guess it's O.K. for me to do the same :) WhaaHooo! Normally I can't do this until the project is available on our website, but today is different. I'm so glad because I think this project is so totally SWEET!  This Love In A Box project allows you to create a keepsake box containing an accordion album and I've had sooo much fun creating it for you. I'm going to let the pictures tell a lot of the story, and hoping they tell a LOVE story!
Love Blooms
It's a box...
Love Blooms
..that openings

...and opens further

..with lots of places for photos, love (heheee), rubber stamping, and embellishing!
There is an inner structure that holds an accordion mini album, thinking a punched heart was the perfect thing to attach as the accordion pull tab.

The accordion comes out of the box, so the bottom of the box can be decorated with more photos or however your HEART desires :)

Lots of great potential for adding your own sweet memorabilia. Just like decorating the outside structure, I had a lot of fun with the inside accordion. I grabbed the stencil with the hearts on it from last years Valentine Collection, my craft knife for cutting out some of the shapes, cut up some of the Extra!Extra! Mini Cutaparts for embellishing, and of course had a lot of fun with the new Love Blooms UMs!

Below is me having a little more fun with the Love Blooms UMs.

Then when the box is all closed, the darling clasp keeps all the LOVE inside safe and sound.

I'm definetely feelin' the LOVE, and would love it if you did too!

**Oh, almost forgot** There are sweet rumors here that this project will also be available in a paperless version, I hope they are true. It's so nice to have the precut book board and matte board pcs to work with,  eariler this week I did make this one up using Aurora Borealis papers from my own stash, thought I would also include a couple pics of that while I was at it, however I haven't had time yet to embellish it yet.
So here it is, plain, without photos.

That's it for now, it's been a fun week here at CS as the Love Blooms product appears and the event gets closer.
Thanks so much for looking and have a SWEET day!

Club Scrap's Navajo Tri-Pane Project

As of today, I have 10 followers on my brand new blog, whaahoo!! Thank you guys and you've inspired me to blog today. Its really cold outside here in Wisconsin, so what better activity is there at the moment for me anyway?

Thought I would take a little breather from making Valentine's Day projects (you'll be seeing more of those in future blogs), although we are getting closer to February and the CS Love Blooms Event is almost here, but until then I'm enjoying the Club Scrap Navajo CST project, the Tri-Pane Book. Knowing many of you know my roll here at Club Scrap (that I lovingly design and create projects for Club Scrap), here is the CST Jan. project that I had fun with.

Before this project came about for me, I did see something similar that inspired me, but I thought the book should be larger and also thought how cool it would be with Club Scrap's paper laminated to it's inside and outside covers! so this is it.

The flexible fastener rings allow for more pages of any size to be added in the future. So you can just go to town adding different interesting tidbits like photos, envelopes, tags etc..you just need to punch holes for feeding the binding ring though and your set.

I made good use out of the Navajo Cutaparts included in the kit for decorating the inside and the outside of the project.

It's sooo fun to 'show and tell' projects, isn't it??
Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Snow Day Scrapbooking

It's really cold today, but it did warm my heart when Scrapbooking.com included my "Snow Day" page to their January Issue. If you care to take a closer look and see a few stepouts, check it out at: http://scrapbooking.com/article/76458
I enjoy Club Scrap's long UM word stamps that created the border on this page, easy to do
with good results.
It's been fun being included in a couple of Scrapbooking.com's monthly issues.
They even do a YouTube segment of the project: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygGsbh7K03c&feature=youtu.be

For other articles I've enjoyed doing with Scrapbooking.com in the past, check out this link and scroll down for the list:  http://scrapbooking.com/cgi-bin/Phase_2/archive_designer.pl?author=Kay%20Williamson

Well for us here in Wisconsin, just gearing up for the next snow day.
Thanks for looking and warm wishes to you today.

Calendar Projects - It's A Date

Now that we are well into 2012, I can't get enough of Club Scrap's Navajo Calendar Print. The Cutapart page, that contains two full years, can be made into a calendar project or used sparingly as an embellishment on a scrapbook page. It's a cool versatile goodie I'm glad to have in my stash for under two bucks. So, even though there are more detailed instructions of these projects on Club Scraps 2012 Navajo Online Scrap Rap page, I wanted to blog about it also.  I guess I still have the "Happy New Year" spirit. So here are a couple things I've done with this fun calendar goodie.
It starts as a full sheet for you to do anything with.
At first I thought this goodie's main purpose would be for embellishing scrapbook pages.
It's easy to add a little dimension by bending the mini calendar page around a pen and attaching with foam squares.
Almost forgot about this class trip scrapbook page I did using a mini calendar page as an embellishment. I used it just flat here below.

Then I thought a mini calendar on a picture frame project would be fun. I'm all about adding memorabilia to my projects, making them more of a keepsake of course, so this mini tear-off calendar frame popped into my head.

I painted an old frame I was no longer using, matted and embellished a photo and now it sits on my desk. I'll tear-off each month, and will end up with a stamped quote in the frame after the year is over.

Before binding my calendar pages together, I remembered to add a stamped quote on the bottom of the calendar stack, so I'll have that to look at after the year is over.  Then using CS Book Binding Glue and a paper clamp, I adhered one year of mini calendar pages together, after it was dry the glue made the perfect binding for my little calendar.

Then the mini calendar got attached to the matted photo....
...and placed in a frame for desktop viewing.

After enjoying this frame calendar project I felt these mini calendars were just too darn cute to be limited to only a frame project and scrapbook pages. Next came this desktop altered box mini calendar.

After binding the mini calendar pages together, I made a mini eisle to attach to the top of the box.

It's not only cute, but also functional for housing a few often used desk supplies.

I know the year is going to fly by, so glad I've got my fun 2012 calendars in place and out to enjoy.
Thanks for looking, have an inspiring day.

Shadow Box - All That Jazz's Club Stamp Project

All That Jazz

All That Jazz

all that jazz
The All That Jazz Club Stamp "Shadow In A Box" project has so many options.  I enjoyed designing the project for last years All That Jazz Club Stamp kit, and still see fun options in this project. Above I used just the book board components from the kit, I'll use the paper included for card making, then I painted the book board construction box brown, using papers and embellishments from my stash to decorate.  This shadow box project is different from the other three I put together is because I cut the nook in the center rather than the top left like the others.  They were so much fun to make that I had to put together a couple.  They hang on the wall or sit on a desk or shelf, and make nice gifts.
Moving on to all the other pics I have in store of this same project - the following shadow box project is painted black.  I used my new favorite opaque CS White ink pad and Dec 2010 Vogue Font UMs to stamp on the front before I put it all together.  Then simply added a family picture in the nook, some chipboard letters and stickers, and that's about it on this one.

Next is my first, the original All That Jazz version made using the November 2010 All That Jazz papers to decorate that came with the kit.  The white paint, wooden spool and wooden closepins come with the kit along with the papers, and are great for decorating the box.

Now my last one here, I'm probably attaching too many pictures, but I had so much fun with it so here it goes.  It's wrapped with a couple sheets of  text weight paper and the photos are matted and attached to the front.  The side panel isn't attached like the others, it opens up like a old mail box, allowing two handmade books to slide into the inside.

Backing up a bit to show putting together the precut book board pcs below.

After wrapping.
jazz
I made little books to fit into the nook as well as books to fit into the inside of the box itself.

jazz
Here is the side panel that is wrapped and then attached with a paper hinge on the bottom to make housing books inside possible.
jazz

jazz
I still have some decorating to do on the inside of these books, but I have a good start.  jazz
I did have a bit more fun with the vertical book in cutting a nook into it.
jazz
One of those Orange Feather Butterflies just happened to be on my craft table so I used it inside my cut out nook space.
jazz
Inside pages are stamped and then photos and stamped quotes added.
jazz
jazz
I went with my "normally gone to" Kettle Stitched binding for both books.
jazz
I used a large D-Ring as a pull on the opening side panel.
jazz
Well that's it for me for now.  As much as I would like to make yet another, I must move on to other projects. Thanks so much for taking the time to look
